I am a Mining Engineering professional with an Honours Degree in Mining Engineering from the University of Johannesburg. I hold a Strata Control Certificate for Metalliferous Mines, RMC P1, Lean Six Sigma and currently pursuing my Rock mechanics qualification . I have over four years of practical mining experience gained at Sibanye-Stillwater, where I served as a Learner Official.

Furthermore, I joined the geotechnical space as a Graduate at Anglo American Platinum for three years, where I gained extensive exposure to a variety of mining environments, including conventional platinum mining, surface mining, inclined shaft sinking, and mechanized bord-and-pillar operations. This experience provided me with a strong foundation in rock engineering, ground control management, and geotechnical risk assessment across different mining methods.

Currently, I serve as a Strata Control Officer at Valterra Platinum, where I am responsible for the geotechnical management of a shaft sinking project. My role involves overseeing ground support systems, conducting geotechnical assessments, managing ground-related risks, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Throughout my career, I have contributed to several key geotechnical and mining projects within the platinum industry. These include the design and optimization of support systems in thrust fault zones, geotechnical management of mining through weathered ground conditions, pillar optimization studies to improve extraction efficiency and stability, and white areas projects aimed at unlocking additional mineral resources. These experiences have strengthened my expertise in geotechnical engineering, mine design, and practical ground control solutions in challenging underground mining environments.
